Trekking

We always try to show you the truly unspoiled Nepal on trek. The tracks we follow are selected to take you through the beautiful rhododendron forests, which will be alive with colour in the Spring.

Our intimate knowledge of the areas where we trek, allows us to take you into villages to meet the local people, who will often invite you into their houses, a really unique experience for you and your friends. The goal of our trek is to achieve a high point, from where you will have fantastic views of the Himalayan range. This is often above the tree line. All along the paths, it is quite common to see a huge variety of birdlife and if you are quiet, some of the mountain animals too, such as Red Panda, Goral (Goat antelope) and certainly signs of common leopard and possibly Snow Leopard. Never be far from your binoculars or camera!

For those who worry about Mountain Sickness or if the walking will be too tough, don’t! We are fully aware of the issues of Mountain Sickness and we trek slowly, carefully and with plenty of stops en route to mitigate against it. As a result we have never had a problem with Mountain Sickness in 29 years. As for the levels of difficulty, we travel at the pace of the slowest and all our trekking days have plenty of time built into them. Do remember of course, that all your kit is carried for you and we even have a “day pack porter” who walks with us, carrying your spare coat, camera, water bottle, sun cream and so on. It really is a luxury trip!

On the comfort side, the tents are spacious, off the ground camp beds are provided and we give you pillows and inner sheets for your thick warm sleeping bags, which we also provide. Extra warmth is provided by hot water bottles and thick down jackets! You will lack for nothing.

The loos are proper “off the ground loos” , no squatting over holes in the ground and yes, wait for it, we carry showers with us, so you can have a good wash every night in the shower tent, even when it’s cold outside!
