Bespoke and personalised off the beaten track holidays to the Himalayan region

Dear Friends and supporters of Ussher Tours,
You will have all heard about the terrible catastrophe in Nepal. It appears that there was a glacial collapse which allowed a mass of water to suddenly burst through the space where the ice had been. The force was so powerful that it took everything with it in its path. Enormous boulders, earth, trees, mud, houses, livestock and of course the dear people of the valley who had little or no warning and were unable to reach higher ground and safety.
The water and debris increased in speed as it entered Nepal and poured down the Bhote Kosi and Trisuli carrying everything in its path.
The latest I have heard is that up to 400 tourists from several countries, including UK are missing, many army and national park staff also and over 5000 Nepalis are unaccounted for.
This is terrible beyond belief and I fear the confirmed death toll could well into the thousands.
Luckily all our team are safe. We heard from our porter recruiter that he saw it all from his village. It was a horrible sight with people and animals swept away, perhaps never to be seen again.
I am sure you will all wish to send your sympathies to the poor people of Nepal at this time.
Best wishes to you all and thank you for all your lovely messages.
Christopher. 🩷

Christopher and his team were all formerly connected with the Gurkhas and have extensive knowledge and experience in organising and guiding personalised trips to the beautiful unspoiled parts of Nepal and the adjoining Himalayan countries of Bhutan and Tibet.

We specialise in putting a trip together that suits your personal needs and requirements. This can vary from those who just want to trek in the hills along routes seldom frequented by tourists, to those who want to enjoy and learn about the cultural aspects of the region, including the world heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley, to others who want a special wildlife holiday to see the birds and the game of the Indian Sub Continent. For further information, see the detailed pages from our menu.

During your stay with us, you will lack for nothing. Perhaps the most reassuring aspect of our guided tours is that you will be looked after in true comfort, style and above all, safety.
